Pioneering Morocco's Bio-Economy Revolution

African Natural Fiber

Founded by Mohamed El Amali in the heart of Kenitra's banana belt, BANANCO is more than a company — we are a movement transforming centuries-old agricultural wisdom into tomorrow's sustainable industrial materials. Backed by the United Nations, GIZ, INDH, and a consortium of 14 strategic investors, we are building Africa's first integrated banana biorefinery from the ground up.

The cascade

One hundred percent of the biomass, valorized in four stages.

Zero waste. Zero landfill. Zero burning. Each stage recovers what the previous one could not use, until the compost returns to the farms it came from.

Sustainability impact

Sustainability is not a marketing claim. It is our operating system.

Every ton of biomass we process, every farmer we partner with, and every job we create is tracked, measured, and reported against rigorous international standards.

Environmental

5,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent and 200 tons of methane prevented annually. 15,000 m³ of water saved through closed-loop recycling. 1,500 tons of virgin wood pulp displaced.

Social

500+ smallholder farmers integrated by Year 3, each earning 5,000 to 15,000 MAD in supplementary annual income. 39 formal green jobs within 12 months, scaling to 80+.

Economic

A circular model that transforms zero-value agricultural waste into a spectrum of high-value industrial materials — creating multiple revenue streams while eliminating waste, reducing costs, and building resilience against climate and market shocks.
